Your Business needs Customer Service

I have to get a grip off my chest. If you are providing a service or supplying a product and wish to stay in business you must provide support to that product or service.
I’m in the air conditioning trade and a customer called in a fault with their air conditioning unit, the office despatched the apprentice 4pm on a Friday afternoon, as he was about to go away for 3 weeks (not a good call).
He had never worked on this model before so he contacted the local rep that had installed it for the customer on our behalf, he got no real help from the rep so reported that the fan had failed to the office and customer and went on leave.
So Monday morning I’m sent to check it out and note the details.
Again it was a model I too had not worked on before, so gave it the old power reset and it worked, the fan started and all was well. So off I went.
The next day it stopped again. Now most modern air conditioning units have a flashing light or a display that tells you the fault, all you need is the manual that came with the air conditioning unit to figure it out.
This air conditioning unit had a green flashing light, so I rang the local rep and asked him about the green light. After getting an attitude and the run around he finally came up with what the light may mean. Which I checked out and it was the cause, condensate water level too high fault, After a quick and messy repair it was all go again and still is going.

Now get this
The local rep rings up the office and has a go at the office staff that we were all useless, when she asked why? He said because two of us had rung him up to ask him how to fix a fault.

If you provide a service or a product and a customer has a question about it, no matter how dumb it maybe. You don’t tell them to take a running jump, do you? If you don’t know the answer, you find out the answer and get back to them. Simple.

This same rep was heard to say that our company was only peanuts to him so didn’t need us. A little bird told me that in the past 12 months we have paid him over $150 000, so next year his turn over will be down $150 000.

My product is “Affiliate Millions” I use it, I know it and if I don’t know the answer I’ll ask the person that wrote it.
