Whats a Niche?

Niche -A niche, according to Wikipedia is an extra or a space that has been reduced in size.
So what is all this talk about finding Niches, are all the Internet marketer looking for small spaces. No. If you look up Niche Market, Wikipedia has this to say – A niche market is a focused targetable portion (subset) of a market.

So by definition, then, an Internet marketer that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream marketers.
A niche market may be thought of as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.

So by seeking out smaller segments of a larger market, a marketer can develop a website that is quickly promoted to serve an unique targeted customer base, giving the affiliate a small but regular income stream. This technique is then repeated across several other niche websites until a desired income level is achieved.

What has this to do with you, Well you need to get off the well-worn track the all Internet Marketer follow and that is promote the same product to the same people that are promoting the same product. Get it.
Go and promote a different product to a different group of people where no one else is doing it yet. No not selling sand in a desert but finding a niche (that word again) with little competition.
Type in a word into your favourite search engine and see how many ads appear on the right hand side. 10, 20 or 1 or 2. If it’s 1 or 2 then there could be a market there. Check it out.
A quicker and easier way is to use a niche finding tool. There are a lot on the market.
The one that I use took my adword cost from over $2.50 a click to below $1.00 so it paid for itself the first time I used it.
