Essential Web Promotion Strategies Discussed In Basic Terms

I have been a web marketer for the last twelve years; there have been many changes to the way people should go about promoting their websites in this time and it can prove to be a bit of nightmare trying to keep in touch with the latest web promotion changes. What worked only three years ago could now result in your site receiving a ban or penalty on the major search engines. Paid links and over-excessive reciprocal linking are seemingly a thing of the past.

Only a couple of years ago a webmaster or an SEO services company could simply purchase a backward link on a high power website and that on its own would catapult the site up the rankings.

But then things changed in a rather radical way – Google finally had enough and went about ending the practice of buying and selling links. This upset a lot of people, this tends to happen when money is involved, with many accusing Google of acting as God. The reply from Google was short and to the point and went along the lines of; it is our search engine and we therefore decide our own guidelines; if you want to sell text links that is fine but it may result in some form of penalty.

Nowadays there is a new watch word in the world of the web marketing service; relevancy. What does this mean? Well quite simply the backward links that you attempt to obtain now need to be relevant to the website/s that you run for them to have a real benefit. Again this surely is common sense. If a website about gardening has a link pointing to a website about camping, is this offering any value to its site visitors? Not really.

I also believe that those webmasters who are happy to put in the hard yardage are now going to see their efforts fully rewarded. Some of the old favourites such as article marketing are becoming more popular than ever but quality is now far more important than quantity. There are now an increasing number of articles to choose from therefore only the best pieces of content will receive the full benefits.

The 5 Best Article Marketing Websites

Are you interested in link building and SEO services? Have you discovered the amazing power of article marketing yet? Would you like to increase the amount of visitors to your website? Are you hoping to make a lot of money online via your website. I am, of course, not entirely sure how you will have answered the above questions however they are ones that I most certainly would have answered yes to all of them. Taking my last eight years of experience, I truly believe that writing articles is one of the best, if not the best forms of promoting a website and in this article I am going to write about what in my opinion are the best five article marketing sites to submit your articles to.

It goes without saying that writing articles is rather time consuming and the alternative is to hire an SEO consultant.

I have been writing articles for eighteen months and I must say that I aim to continue writing more content as a way of marketing my own websites for many more years to come. This is because it has done wonders for my own sites and also because it is a form of free web marketing. I would strongly advise any person who is looking to gain more traffic to their sites to commence writing articles asap. As a rule I attempt or have a goal to write an average of one article per day. On certain days when I have more time or when I am in the mood for it, I write a lot more than just one, my record thus far has been 7 in one day.

I would have to say that without a shadow of a doubt that Ezinearticles is the best article marketing directory on the net. It is important to be clear about their guidelines when submitting to this site as they do not accept any old rubbish, which of course has to be a good thing.

I also submit content to articlealley, articledashboard, goarticles and ideamarketers.

I used to also submit my articles to searchwarp but they have had a bit of a disaster and they now use the no follow rule on all links in the author bio.

One other article directory which I have heard is very good is buzzle. This is a site that I have heard great things about and is one which could possibly feature in my list of “five favourite article marketing websites” in the future.
